The business idea to develop IEC fusion devices as commercial Neutron Generator products was adopted in 1993. From 1996 to 2000 the Mk0 experience was gained via development within a large aerospace company. Soon afterward the technology and business development was moved by the original project manager to a new small company called Neutron Systems Development Ltd where the Mk1 prototype was developed. In 2005 NSD-Fusion GmbH emerged from a restructuring that demonstrated the Never Say Die philosophy.

We currently have research, academic and a broad range of industrial customers who are specifying various configurations of the NSD Neutron Generator. In addition we are delivering our shielding solutions to some of these customers.

We have a core set of Neutron Generator products which are the basis for developing bespoke Neutron Generator configurations. Neutron emission unit reaction chambers can be configured as pseudo spot sources or as line sources for “illumination” of large objects. The lifetimes of our products are measures in tens of thousands of hours.

NSD-Fusion is able to offer a range of neutron generators and development project support services. We can provide variants for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) of systems that use neutrons. The range of possibilities is limited only by the vision of the customer.
